An interesting article, the content of which, I am embarrassed to admit, is news to me. As is often the case, I suspect our forum members might have mixed views on this.

NCIS. Same as the T V show. One of my favorites. However, a few episodes ago, they clearly had an antigun episode. Now I find out it is run by a Obama appointee, who Obama has tagged to be the head of ATF, except the NRA has major issues with him and his nomination is stalled. They say he is totally antigun.
Would the antigun episode be a favor to stay in the good graces of the outfit who bears their name.

NCIS, why headed by the Secretary of the Navy, is a civilian LE organization.
Which NCIS (the TV show) episode was anti gun? I have missed a couple this season.

I can't believe I am posting this.

This doesn't seem out of character to me. All nerdy scientists hate guns.

NCIS episode I remember there was a female organizer of a gun show selling defective body armor to families of military men, causing their injury overseas.
If I remember lots of talk about why you don't need guns etc. Visit to a gun show, etc.
Naturally at the end, the gun show organizer is in a shoot out with NCIS and has a fully automatic assault rifle making their lives miserable. All people who attend gun shows have these right. Of course a well placed shot with a pistol and she is killed wearing one of her defective vests.
It left a bad taste in my mouth. Seemed very out of character for the show.

Harmon is a typical Hollywood, anti-gun type, despite his gun play on the NCIS set.
He is the (executive?) producer of the show.
Wouldn't surprise me a bit if some of his views were translated into show topics or ideas.

I'll counter this by stating that most of the IT departments I've dealt with contain folks that are very knowledgeable with regard to firearms.

I concur. Generally, people I met in technical roles (non management) were pro gun or neutral. The antis tended to be non-technical, and I include most social scientists [sic] in that category, or highly theoretical rather than practical types.

My comment about "nerdy scientists" was meant to describe TV/Movie stereotypes, not real people in any particular profession.
These are the same stereotypes about scientists that are perpetuated in the media: lacking in social skills, non-athletic and clumsy, not physically attractive, wear glasses, etc.
