Good for the Sheriffs. I'm glad they walked out.
With their walk out, maybe the anti-gun legislators will get the message that anti- LEO - anti-gun attitudes are ludicrous.
I wish the complainer had been identified.
Perhaps, next time he/she needs protection they'll complain about the necessary tools for such and insist on non-lethal type weapons - yeah, sure...in a pig's eye.

I am sure the citizens of Oklahoma will find out the identity of the complainer during the next election campaign.

Well, maybe we can't open-carry in Texas, but we can sure conceal carry in our Capitol. Where is more important than how.

Does the OK CC law prevent carry into the Capitol, and does it not exempt LEOs? I'm surprised. Agree with Charles though.......at least we can carry in our Capitol.
But I still laud OK for passing OC.

A little different twist on the story:
BizPac Review noted that a different account of the incident was reported in The Oklahoman, a paper which serves Oklahoma City.
When the sheriffs entered the Senate gallery, “the sergeant at arms asked the sheriffs to take off their guns or leave the building,” the Oklahoman said. “But a state Senate official says the sheriffs were only questioned briefly before being allowed back into the Senate gallery, still wearing their service weapons.”

And another story:
A separate House committee on Tuesday approved a bill that would make it illegal for any federal employee or agent to enforce any U.S. regulations on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition that is manufactured in Oklahoma and remains within the state’s borders.

I'm withholding judgement until I find out if those Sheriffs and their deputies would allow citizens to carry guns into city and county government meetings.
