What's the Wal Mart tradition I keep hearing about?

Total time from the time DPS received my packet to plastic in hand - 19 days.

Congratulations!! I believe you may have the record for the fastest turnaround time. Last I heard was 20 days.

Generally, I think turnaround times are calculated from mailbox to mailbox. The poster you quoted started his count from the time DPS received it, so technically you could probably add a few more days onto it.

It took the USPS a full week to get my application to Austin -- I could have hand delivered it in 3 hours! I sent it registered mail to track it.

Got there on May 10th - finally - so now I'm waiting - "Processing Application"
