Eric Cantor defeated

Eric Cantor has lost his primary.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&fref=nf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Political wags are in shock. Cantor's internal polling showed him up by 35%. (Better fire those guys.) He's being walloped. The Tea Party guy is up 58%-42% right now. They predict 55%-45% end result. That's a landslide. Wonder what Boehner will do now. Looks like immigration reform may be dead now.

What I love about this is that it totally steals LIndsey Graham's thunder. He was going to brag about how the Tea Party couldn't beat him and how "moderates" are what the people want. Now his primary victory is lost in the massive headlines about Cantor's defeat.

The Tea Party does not have to knock out every incumbent. We just have to be a threat . Cantor just found out the hard way that VA is not yet blue.

Cantor became the first person in American history to lose his party's primary while holding the position of House majority leader, according to Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper.
I'm sure there's a message in there somewhere... If I could only put my finger on it...

Cantor was too busy running for Speaker and forgot to represent his constituents properly.
Adios.

He was a pill. Arrogant, swarmy, patronizing.....even his ads were so patronizing I wanted to vote for Brat based on the pro Cantor ads.

Cantor was recently supported by the Tea Party; I guess some Tea Party folks don't stick with friends. That's a sure fire way not to have any political impact. What sin did Majority Leader Cantor commit to loose their support?
Chas.

Good article about David Brat. I like #5
http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/electio ... at-n128151" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"5. He fiercely opposes any form of gun control
Another issue about which Brat feels strongly is the Second Amendment. In keeping with the views of many tea party supporters, he says he will "oppose any back door attempts to confiscate guns or create a national gun registry."
On his "issues" page on his website, he adds: "All too frequently the knee jerk reaction to tragedies by the media and chattering class is to move to restrict our rights...Our founding documents make it clear that our inalienable rights come from God and that the job of the government is to ensure and protect those God given rights."

Pushing for amnesty disguised as immigration reform. All the tv pundits have been talking about how immigration reform this session is now dead in the water.

#1 Being a better friend to big business than to his constituents, he actively went against the tea party several times and shunned them multiple times
#2 Never, ever, being in his district....his manager said he would hold a town hall "over his dead body"
#3 Being anti-gun when in his district, which was precious little time
#4 Being pro Amnesty---we don't talk immigration here--so lets just say it is a non-starter in Richmond, Chesterfield, and Henrico (where his district is)
#5 His ads were horrendous, I mean BAD! I wanted to vote for Brat based on Cantor's radio ads alone
#6 He was so busy trying to get to speaker he forgot about the people back home.
I have lived in or next to his district for 10 years....over that ten years his image has gone from "ok" to "irritated with a few of your votes" with to just plain "that's ENOUGH of YOU". He should have paid better attention to that image.
