I have been contacted by a student that had their CHL-100 kicked back for a date issue. Totally my error. The class was on 06-21 and I dated the CHL-100 as 07-21. I noticed the mistake on the CHL-8 before I submitted it. I drew one line through the date on the CHL-8, corrected the date, and initialed the change.

Two questions. I am in the process of issuing new CHL-100's to the class. Is that correct? Do I need to send a new CHL-8 to replace the hand changed one? I have not been able to get through on the phone to ask DPS.

I did something similar once. Fortunately (and embarassingly), one student caught it before anyone was out the door. A few minutes of paper-shuffling and signature-swapping, and all was well.

I would think that since your original -8 contained the correction when filed, that would suffice. To file again would simply be that: filing the same info again. IMHO, anyway.

Reissue them CHL-100's with the correct date. DPS will make sure the date on the CHL-100 matches the CHL-8.
