Those who do these things need to be arrested for attempted murder, because that is what it is. They are attempting to use the police as hired hit men (not the LEO's fault).

Let few callow youths be sentenced to a prison stint publicly and see if that sinks in. I'd be in favor of a public beating, but alas we don't do that anymore.

And if anyone is killed as a result, they should get the death penalty.

Exactly, I'm not sure what the callers would be charged with, but I'm sure the DA would do everything in their power to find a way to make it a felony. Once that's the case, any deaths as a result of their actions would be grounds for a murder charge.

Maybe something like conspiracy to commit murder for the call, and 1st degree murder if anyone (can we also make it "special circumstances"), cop or citizen, gets killed.

If it can be found who made the calls, I think they should be billed for the full expense of the call out. If they kids or their parents cannot afford to pay, then garnish wages, community service, make them work it off. There are plenty of things to do.

Doesn't 911 have caller I D. If it is blocked, shouldn't the 911 operator ask more questions, or at least tell the police responding it is from a blocked call. I thought they could pin point where a call was from.

Using VoIP & or computer programs enables a caller to "spoof" his outgoing number and location. Many solicitors are now disguising their caller ID's this way.

I think, not entirely sure, wages can't be 'garnished' in Texas.
