Tonights IDPA match at Elm Fork

Post by age_ranger »

Well, I couldn't stand it and have to post up the results. It's the fastest I've ever seen results put up and for such a large group!!! The Dallas Action Pistol Shooters ran a great match tonight and although there were 41 people and only 4 stages, it was alot of fun. Great to see the familiar faces....some from here as well

Here's a little video and a link to the results. Guess who came in 5th overall  The camera is probably going to be much better in the daylight though :???:

Tell ya what, anyone who thinks a Beretta is not competitive better like crow stew. You had that PX4 smokin'!!
I'm thinking that MM classification is WAY off. You're shooting High SS, low EX at least.

That's the highest number of shooters I have seen so far at a Elm Fork Wednesday night match. The DAPS folks were definitely on the ball and everyone got through all 4 stages smoothly and we bagged it by 9:30.
A big thumbs up for the folks running the show tonight.

I didn't shoot the classifier long ago and missed SS by a few points. I've tried to re-shoot it but they've been full or I've been working too much. With any luck, I'll get bumped at State.

I too definatly had a blast at it. Hopfully before to long Ill be shooting just as good as you guys. Was also nice to meet you Highvelocity. Austin was also out there. Always good to put a name with a face. I didn't do as good as my first match but atleast I didnt come in last. (Stupid Rookie mistakes.) But over all was good. Looking forward to doing it again.

Heres a video that Age took of my shooting. It was later in the night so you can really see much. It was windy out there so thats why I was waiting so long before I said ready.

I like it colder......made it easy to conceal my full size

Who's Austin??? I sent James some vids too. Gary, you ranked pretty high and with a REVOLVER. That's just amazing.........those were some pretty quick reloads. Faster than most people with autos!! I'm just not a wheel gunner. I'd like to be, just don't care for them much. I picked up a bunch of 38spl cases at a different range earlier that day. Lemme know if you reload them and I'll start saving them for ya'. Ammo price increases are almost as bad as gas lately.

Can you believe this is wildscar's second time shooting IDPA? Mr head shot over there........I think he's hustling us all!!!! ;-)

How often do they have these events on week nights? I work on the weekends but would love to try this out. You have to be a member first to participate, right? I think I have the form at the house. Where is that place located?

Elm Fork is out off of Luna Rd/Hwy 635:

http://www.dallaspistol.com/DAPS/Locati ... ationID=11

Matches are usually wed/sat for IDPA and anyone is welcome to attend. Prices are:

$10 range fee paid at the clubhouse
$5 for members, $6 for non-members match fee

It's pretty crowded now!! Great to see all the new shooters and learn from the Pro's. New shooters are free the first match they shoot. Be sure the check the schedule as there's no IDPA match this saturday.

Thanks. I'll have to do some research on the different classes and the rules but I may try the next Wednesday match if I think I'm ready by then. Any tips that you veterans want to pass along are welcome.

6 down is a good place to be. Looking at the average, I'd say you did real good! Lately, the matches out there have been great. Some good stages and well set up. Hopefully there's one on Wed night. Not sure about the weather, but things should be good and soggy for the state match.
