Seems pretty similar to the Memphis thing - except this time someone shot one of the criminals.

They said the teenage criminal had a record for armed robery, but I don't see where it says the criminals were armed during this robbery. They left out that information.

I also don't like this quote. It was a group of criminals and/or gang members. Saying it was just a group of "people" makes it sound like it is something anyone would do.
