I am interested in shoulder rig for when i ride my bike. It will be concealed under a leather vest. I will be carrying a PT145 Mill Pro and I need some suggestions for comfort and brands.

I know of the list of holster makers on this thread but i have looked at several and many dont have shoulder rigs available. I just want to shorten my search with a lil help from you fine people that used them.

I also know of the pros and cons of a shoulder rig but as i said, I am Riding my Bike and I feel this will the way to carry for me.

David, take a look at some of the Galco line stocked by Dallas Public Safety Supply. Mark fitted me with a Miami Classic II that has been great. Good fitting by someone who knows his stuff makes a shoulder rig work. DPSS is in downtown Dallas. From Fort Worth, it's I-30E to 75North, then exit on Elm, then back west for a couple of blocks.

I believe a compact Glock holster fits your gun. They should have everything you need. They can mix and match parts to make just what you need.

Cant go wrong w/ the Miami Classic as stated above by AV8R. I also have one for my snubby & really like it.
Only other Shoulder rig I know of that I would consider for regular use is the andrewsleather.com Monarch. I have not worn it but really like the looks of it.
The shoulder straps are wider & I like that. I really like the looks of the larger "Butterfly" on the back.
I am a little concerned about how the suede will stand up over time w/ heavy sweat. The backstrap is something novel & may stop forward swing when bending straight over but I dont see that as a problem. I dont use tidowns & dont know anyone who shoulder carries regular that does.

Flintknapper is another one on shoulder rigs because he has worn them for so many yrs. Get his comments & weigh all. You will decide what is right for you.

So while we're on the subject, I've finally got my Galco Classic Lite for my PA63 after 7 weeks of waiting. It seems like a decent piece of leather, though I'm still trying to get the tensioner adjusted to my liking.

Now if I could only get it to fit properly. I think it's mostly me, though - and the fact that I can't even try it on with a gun at home. LT: you're not gonna be in San Antonio again anytime soon, are you? Someday I'll make it up there to Lufkin and give you a visit.

I can understand how being uncomfortable in one of these rigs can really turn you off. Not ot mention that my Harley doesnt have much as far creature comforts to speak of so i need everything else to be as comfortable as possible.

Right, a good fit is everything in a shoulder rig, and you may have to try several combinations of parts before something clicks. This is the big disadvantage, as I see it, to ordering a rig by mail. According to Galco, DPSS is one of their largest stocking dealers in the country. They have the stuff, and the experience to make it fit the first time. I haven't had to adjust my rig at all since I bought it.

I believe I've mentioned this in several other threads before, but that was a while back....

I live in a housing cooperative made mostly of students. It is in my lease contract that firearms are not allowed in the house. I wouldn't go to jail for having guns in the house, but I can get kicked out and stuck with paying the rest of my lease. For now, my guns live in my van. I will be moving sometime in July, and won't have this problem any longer.

I think my frame size is adding to the difficulties, too. All the shoulder rigs I can find all say they fit "up to" 48" chest. Well what about the rest of us? They don't seem to make them any bigger. I measure out at 53". Sometime this week, I gotta go shopping for new cover garments, too. It seems that I own 1 shirt that is big enough to cover up my Hi-Power. I guess it's a good thing though - I need stuff that fits me properly anyway, instead of trying to make XL shirts fit. Every once in a while, someone will take a photograph of me that reminds me of how stocky I really am. Here's me and my big hands making my full-sized Hi-Power look little.

Well, I know why the Classic Lite doesn't come in black now...

It's suede, and apparently you can't dye it black because it will rub off on your clothes. That's what the guy at the leather shop said, anyway. Oh well.

The reason I wanted it black is that most of the shirts I wear are dark-colored, so a black shoulder rig won't contrast as much. Next time I order a shoulder rig, I'll make sure it comes in black. I guess that limits me to fabric and synthetic. Now if only I can find one that fits a Hi-Power.

Try most any 1911 holster.
