CHL-8 Submission

I have normally faxed in my CHL-8's for lack of a scanner. I had some to send in recently and got access to a scanner so that I could email them through the DPS website.
The trouble is from my perspective, when I faxed them I got a fax completion report to file with my records to show an auditor that I actually sent them in on time.
With the website submission, I didn't get any message saying "thanks for sending in your documents" or anything that I could copy and keep.
If (when) I am audited again, how can I prove that I submitted these through the website?
Thanks in advance.

I upload mine. Before hitting the "Submit" button but after clicking the "Upload" button, I print the screen. After submitting it, I print the "Thank You" page, the automated confirmation email and the later email acknowledging receipt of my CHL-8. All of this is stapled to the CHL-8 for that class. During my DPS audit, the auditor said this was fine. (I keep a separate folder for each class.)
This is the same procedure I recommend my student follow when they upload documents.

Is all that really necessary? They don't give a receipt that says what was uploaded, and you have the original form to show them. After all, if you MAIL it to them, you have nothing to show (unless you send - and pay - for a return receipt). If they really want proof that you sent it to them, they should supply a detailed receipt for your records.

Even a Return Receipt does not 'prove' anything. I could have mailed them an empty envelope.
I think you are being a little paranoid. I keep a copy of the roster( CHL8), the CHL100's (for each student) and the test answer sheet which has their name, address, phone #, email address and d/l number stapled together for each class.
Course, I have never been audited. I don't know if they will criticize me or not. If they do, I will start keeping the email from DPS.
My fax does not print a receipt. If I faxed it, there would be no way to 'prove' it.

You're not supposed to keep the test answer sheet, the target, or the scores for either.

No, it's not. That's just my approach and it's probably the attorney in me coming out. I like proof and it only takes a few seconds to print.
