Today marks the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the end for the Berlin Wall.

and the President of the Soviet coutry is trying to restart the cold war, yea the Russians are our friends and Kalifonia isn't communist and Obama is good for this country, the checks in the mail and I'll respect you in the morning.

Thanks for making me feel older than I already do, Unicorn Rancher.
I spend almost two months in Berlin years before the wall came down. When it finally did come down, I was stationed in Germany.
All I needed was a reminder that happened 25 years ago.

Those wacky Europeans.
Driving a Volkswagen Camper Van, I went to Munich for the Octoberfest with my British girlfriend.
The locals insisted on referring to the city as München.
I insisted that is what we do when we eat, not the name of a city, but no, they would'nt listen.
Later, asking for directions to Brussels, all I got was confused looks and shrugs.
Would'nt you know it, they couldn't spell or pronounce this city correctly either.
They called it "Bruxelles".
Sheesh!
