He needed some more ground clearance, that's for sure. Had I been swarmed by a crowd like that, whom wanted to kill me no doubt, as long as that ol' diesel could get air, I wouldn't stop. You can't call that a hit and run, because it would be in self defense if he is fleeing for his life. Sad situation, but an angry mob vs. a mini-van, glad to see the mob didn't get to the mini-van, as they would've likely done worse than the driver ever could have. Looks like it was a white male driving. I hope he wasn't just being a jerk, I'm sure that's how many will see it, but so far I have yet to find much more than the articles below, which could be angled one way of course.

I made that very clear to my wife last week as well. She was not to go into any of the cities for a while unless absolutely needed, and if she saw crowds or protests, to vacate asap. She's pretty well prepared knows the deal, but I feel better knowing I informed her, even if she did just roll her eyes and say, "of course darling." I typically avoid Dallas anyway, but I made sure the wife understood we would not make any plans taking us there over the next few days. Based on what I've read protestors shut down I-35 in Dallas last night. Fortunately police were able to reopen it without anyone getting hurt.
That wasn't protesters, they just never let more than three cars per hour go on that section of 35.
