Good friend's husband & daughter

I have been at NRA meetings in Birmingham this week. (We occasionally move the fall or winter meetings to cities away from headquarters.) A very good friend and fellow NRA Board Member whose husband has been battling cancer for over a year got a call yesterday while we were at lunch. It was believed he was responding to treatment, but those hopes were dashed when tests revealed that his cancer was spreading. She was too upset to give any details, but apparently he has very little time.
It's doubly tragic because their teenage daughter has had a major health problem for a number of years. When she became ill, her dad started working from home so he could provide the care she needed, because that wasn't an option for her mother. Dad and daughter became even more close than normal because they were together constantly. This is going to be devastating for this poor kid and for her mother.
It's not my place to give names because I don't have permission to do so. I don't know how the daughter will deal with this grief unless God intervenes. Her mother is not only losing her husband, she has to watch her daughter's profound distress at losing not only her Dad, but the man who has been her constant caregiver for years.
Please pray for this family.
