Holder finally does something I can (mostly) support

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Holder finally does something I can (mostly) support

Post by Rex B »

Holder ends asset forfeiture for federal offenses

....but he excludes guns and firearms

http://thehill.com/homenews/administrat ... re-program" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"There will be exceptions for cases that involve public safety, including the seizure of firearms, ammunition, explosives and property involved in child pornography."

Which of these things is not like the other?

The Asset Forfeiture program is one of the most unconstitutional abominations ever imposed on the American people.

Instapundit pointed out that this may be less about doing it because it is right, and more about finding a way to strike at state and local police departments because of Ferguson et al. Also consider the various States that have or are considering prohibiting state and local police from enforcing federal laws, particularly firearms laws. Hence leaving firearms as one of the things the Feds will share funds on.

This ^. It will be a cold day in hades before I ever believe that Holder did something because it was right.

I agree. The feds need to stay out of State business and its good to see States finally stepping up to regain Power. It's too late to fix the monetary mess Washington enslaved us all with but it IS a start to regaining control of our own destinies once again. The Federal Government continues to make itself irrelevant. Racist Holder can pound sand.

I never had any doubts about Holder's motivation.

Well, remember that not doing more about firearms is one of his big regrets.

Then hades froze over once -- he resigned! (Although I note he still seems to be there...)
