Concealed Carry Concerns Prove to be Off-Target

No one could have predicted this. I mean, it wasn't like it had been done 49 times before or anything...

Actually, I was really sure the people of Illinois were stupider and more violent than the rest of the country.
I was kind of surprised to see most of them are not.

A lot of "Blue" states have country folk who don't buy into the liberal (in this case Chicago) nonsense, but either don't vote or more dead people vote than living...

Populations of Illinois Cities
Ranked by Population Size

(Source: U.S. Census Bureau, Census 2010)

Illinois 12,830,632

Chicago city 2,695,598

Aurora city 197,899

Rockford city 152,871

Joliet city 147,433

Naperville city 141,853

Springfield city 116,250

Peoria city 115,007

Elgin city 108,188
The 6 largest cities in Illinois, all having 100K or more people, comprise 3,675,098. That's only 28.643% of the state's total population of 12,830,632. That means that an awful lot of those small-town/rural voters are liberals. BTW, it is very difficult to find exactly what percentage of Illinois voters self-identify as democrat versus as republican.

The City of Chicago population is about 2.6-2.8 million but the Chicago MSA is 9 million+. That means downstate Illinois is considerably smaller now than the Chicago area is.

Yea Cook and Dupage, and even a good chunk of Will county is very liberal. North of I-80 is majority anti gun and a heck if a lot of people live north of that highway.

I was quite active in Will County before I finally headed back to TX, the majority there is conservative, it's just that the liberals there are so much noisier and are lying Chicago machine politicians, like bam-bam and his buddies.

We lived in Bolingbrook for 6 years, and member of several "gun" organizations including the ISRA, which I stand proudly a life member of.

Update: Still no blood.

Concealed carry enters second year in the Southland

Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and Elwood Police Chief Fred Hayes has started to clue in (although you can tell he still doesn't like it) but the Cook County Sheriff will not believe his lyin' eyes.

Update #2: STILL NO BLOOD!?! What's wrong with you Illinoisians? MDA is having a sad, I'll bet....

Crimes committed by concealed-carry gun owners are rare in Illinois, which has been issuing concealed weapons permits for less than two years.
