Guns are pretty much illegal in Boston.
Article questioned if the hospital had metal detectors to detect illegal guns being brought in.
Shooter killed himself after shooting the heart surgeon twice. Doctor is in critical condition.

The doctor later died. RIP. His wife was pregnant, she gave birth today.
Gun laws have consequences.

Yes, but realistically, this doctor is unlikely to have been armed under the circumstances. And even here in Texas, his employer probably would have prevented him from being armed. There's not a lot you can do to defend yourself when you're ambushed by a nut in a normally benign environment. In this case, since he was able to get out the door, if he'd had a gun he might have been able to draw it and shoot back, but what hospital in this country would allow doctors to arm themselves in the circumstances?

I guess we will just disagree.
Heavily gun regulated state, county, city and place of work, illegally murdered by an illegal gun.
It's about time the restrictive gun laws are blamed not guns , bad luck, or lack of mental health programs.

VMI, you're correct, so I'll re-phrase philip's statement to be more inclusive:
Gun
restrictions have consequences,
whether they be laws, or rules arbitrarily imposed by others.
Even without the rules, you're right...it's hard to defend against a well planned ambush.
