The city's rules also restrict where a gun-owner can carry their gun. Public transportation, schools, government buildings, bars, stadiums, and hospitals are off limits, as are protests and an area around the White House. Individuals carrying handguns also have to remain 1,000 feet away from U.S. or foreign dignitaries.
That's like trying to cross the city of Tyler without getting within 1000 feet of a school...

DC doesn't recognize "self defense" as a good cause to carry. You must show proof that your life is in danger or you transport large amounts of valuables in order to qualify.
Can't wait until the city gets sued.

What is the definition of a U.S. Or foreign dignitaries?
Websters defines dignitaries as:
noun
: a person who has a high rank or an important position
Full Definition
: one who possesses exalted rank or holds a position of dignity or honor
Does this mean a person is not allowed to walk down the street in DC with their Representatives or Senators if you are armed?

Might as well only allow carry on the second Tuesday of the week.

yea like the foreign dignitaries that get imunity from the law and can drive however they like and cant be arrested for any law and the police cant do anything about it.
I believe senators and such cant be pulled over either.

Let's not forget that US and foreign dignitaries typically have armed security detail as well.
Their protection is important. The protection of the lowly citizen is not.
