Questions about Suicide-Medical Questionaire

Been going to cardiac rehab for almost a year after my heart attack last February. Yesterday they hand me a form and says I need to fill it out. It had 3 questions asking if I had ever been kicked or beat (not exact words) and the final question was "Have I ever thought about suicide or ever attempted suicide?"

I gave them the paper back and said I'm not filling that out. It has nothing to do with my cardiac rehab and it's very personal questions which is nobody's business. Yes, I could have just answered NO to all of the questions but sometimes enough is enough. I've heard that they have used these questions to pull people's concealed carry license considering them some type of nut job if they had answered yes to the suicide questions.

As far as I'm concerned it's just another way for the government to get into our personal lives.

Having the same concerns I routinely answer 'NO' despite what I went through during my late wife's illness and after her death.

mlsa,

Good for you.

If I ever run into this baloney, I too will simply had them back the blank form along with my opinion that such intrusive questions are none of their business.

Politely, of course.
