Do you watch and listen to TED talks on television?

If you're not familiar with them, they're generally quite short lectures ranging from 5 minutes to 20 or so. They cover a wide variety of topics ranging from architecture to biology to mental illness or humor or space travel or any number of other topics.

You can find them on Netflix streaming.

I've probably listened to 75 or more and found only two that weren't that well presented.

Yes, we know there's a lot of garbage on television, but there's some excellent television too and TED talks is among them.

So, are you a TEDster?

Nope, but I generally watch when one comes up on a YouTube search.

IMO, a lot of them are geared more toward general audiences for what they are. I'd like to see some of those presenters put out intermediate and advanced level talks on their subjects and link those to the "intro" level TED Talk.

That said, I strongly support the concept and I'm glad they're out there to generate interest in learning. I just feel they often lack follow through.

If one of the TED presenters peaks my interest, I do a little more research to find their in depth info.

You can also find them on iTunes. I download ones I'm interested in and listen while I drive. They tend to lean liberal, but they do make you think. :headscratch
