RO/SO info

How does one become a RO/SO? I'm interested in helping out during matches but dont' know how to go about it. Should I ask the guys at the match? oops, sorry......I'm shooting IDPA.

Ask them. If it is tiypical there, you are needed if you can be REGULAR.

Collin County occasionally offers classes for SO certification. John Piper taught the one I took in Tyler last year. I havent had a chance to check, but someone mentioned that IDPA either changed or was going to change the requirements for the class/certification.
Safety Officer Class

Cross Timbers IDPA hosted a Safety Officer Training Class last month in Fort Worth. This is an all day class with a 100 question written exam and range time/put into play what you learned time. Our class was taught by John Piper from Collin County IDPA and it was great. Leonard Head from Cleburne is also a Safety Officer Instructor ( only 2 in North Texas ) and I can put you in contact with Leonard if you PM me.

Work with your local club first, there might actually be a demand for a class and one might get scheduled soon.
However, if you're near Central Texas, I know of a class the last weekend of June. PM me if you're interested.
