HB910 Conference Commitee Changes.

I was just going over the HB910 conference report and I noticed a few changes to the existing law. IF OC passes, we must teach retention holsters and proper open carry procedures. I noticed that 30.06 for CC must be posted in a
conspicuous manner and 30.07 for OC must be posted at
ALL entrances. It is a class C to go into the premises of a 30.06 or 30.07 posted building and goes up to a Class A if told to depart and you do not. The real "got ya" is the 51% location. That is still a class A or Felony, so be careful Open carrying in places that might be 51% posted. I went to a senior adult facility that has a small bar for beer/wine/mixed drink sales to the residents. It was posted 51%. I went to a [Pre-paid legal service] seminar at a VFW hall that was posted 51%. I saw both these signs LONG after I had been in the building. I just went back to my car and locked my handgun up and no one was any wiser. This would be a different situation had I been OC.

Contact TABC about those if you haven't already. Businesses are required to post the 51% notice at the entrance. They will send someone to the establishment to verify compliance (or lack thereof).

I did not know that it had to be at an entrance. I frequent a theater that I concealed carry in often. But one night as we stepped onto the escalator my wife noticed a red 51% sign on the wall in the ticket booth. It was partially obscured by items placed on a counter directly in front of it. Needless to say I was surprised. I wonder, in an Open Carry environment, what might have happened?
This is why HB 308 was so darn important...

There is absolutely no way a theater earns 51% of their income from alcohol sales.

There is absolutely no way a theater earns 51% of their income from alcohol sales.
The company selling the alcohol is separate from that of the cinema. Since you can walk into a theater and sit with you beer, the whole site is off limits.

I doubt it. Needs to be challenged. But if that is the case and not an improper posting, they would never get a dime from me.
That would be like saying a beer vendor at the state fair makes the whole fair off limits.
