I just got finger printed in Feb. for my CHL, now I need to do it again for the instructor's application and another background check. Why?

Because bureaucracy.BCGlocker wrote:I just got finger printed in Feb. for my CHL, now I need to do it again for the instructor's application and another background check. Why?
Now see, there is your problem. You are trying to apply logic to a government process.BCGlocker wrote:Erick Drake wrote:Because you didn't do them both the first time.
I did not know I can do both at the same time. But you would think the information goes to the same exact agency, they would have easy access to it.
He's right.sjfcontrol wrote: Because bureaucracy.
Actually, you DON'T get automatically licensed. The class qualifies you for a CHL, but you still must apply for the CHL and pay the fee. An instructors license is just and instructors license and does not authorize you to carry concealed.o b juan wrote:If applying for the instructor school you automatically get licensed to carry when the school is completed.
At least it was that way in 95'
That's correct. At the beginning of the application process, you're given the option to apply for both with the same application, otherwise (as I learned) a separate application process must be completed for each. I reckon a lot has changed in the last 10 years.Keith B wrote:Actually, you DON'T get automatically licensed. The class qualifies you for a CHL, but you still must apply for the CHL and pay the fee.
