Ok, I just uploaded all the instructor's info and paid the fee. Now I am begin my waiting period all over again just like the original CHL process (wish I knew I could have done both at the same time). I was told by DPS in Austin that she guesses the wait period is between 6-8 months. That is a REALLY long wait.

6-8 Months is not that bad. Some in my class waited almost 2 years.

I'm going in August, I've waited OVER two years.

I submitted my info and was fingerprinted in April two years ago. Now, a buddy of mine Submitted his stuff at the same time and got the email a year ago. Not sure why mine took a year longer. My friend had delayed his a couple of times and I was about certain that I was lost in the shuffle and then suddenly got the email. Fortunately, my friend did as well. I had contacted the state a few times and was told that they were just taking a long time and to be patient.

Wow! I waited almost 11 months -could have done a class a month earlier (they had cancellations plus expanded the available seats with two weeks to go, and opened it up to those who were next in line, if we wanted) but it didn't fit my schedule so I went with the regularly scheduled class.

Gotta believe your two year wait, if it was anytime in the last couple of years, was due to someone screwing up.

Oh, it wouldn't surprise me; and I had told them I believed this was not a normal wait and that I felt like I had been "misplaced." All to no avail. Frankly, I'm just glad to finally be going.
