On the way home yesterday, I saw a notice that I-45 south (Gulf Fwy.) will be closed at NASA Parkway this Saturday. It didn't give times or any other information.
For people attending the PSC-IDPA Match this Saturday and using I-45 south, I suggest:
Get off at Bay Area Blvd;
Turn right on Bay Area Blvd. and go to FM528 (a/k/a Parkwood);
Turn right on FM528 and go to the range.
Alternatively, if the freeway is stacked up before you get to Bay Area Blvd.:
Get off at FM2351;
Turn right on FM2351 and go to FM518 (a/k/a Friendswood Dr.);
Turn left on FM518 and go to FM 528;
Turn right on FM528 and go to the range.
Chas.

Oh Man....
Last time they did this the traffic on Bay Area Blvd from FM528 to I45 after the match was horrendous, like maybe 2mph average.
I could just take 528 all the way to 146, but I like to stop at a Greek Resturant at corner of Bay Area Blvd and El Camino Real for Gyros after match.
Speaking of food, are we planning to eat together somewhere after match?

Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.
Noonish to 1PM
If you push it from stage to stage and leave as soon as your last shot echos away you might be able to leave by 11:30.
Me, I like to take my time, bull with the other shooters, smell the flowers, pick up the 45acp brass, help with tear down, anything to prolong my stay at the range....

An additional notice for those who may be coming in from the west or northwest: the West Sam Houston Parkway southbound will be closing at 10:00 p.m. tonight, to reopen at 5:00 a.m. Monday. The northbound side will be open during the day, but will be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. tonight and Saturday night. You'll need to plan your route accordingly.
BTW, for any others who find themselves heading east on the South Sam Houston Parkway, my typical route avoids I-45 by taking Telephone Road south, then taking a left on Moore Road (no traffic light; it's the first left after you pass Cornett Road). Take Moore about one mile to the first light; that'll be 528. Turn right, and the entrance to PSC is less than half a mile on the left.
Me, I won't have to worry about the route to PSC tomorrow...because, once again, the day-job has snatched my Saturday and I'll have to go into the office. I'm still at work and am gonna try to find any way I can to get away tomorrow, but it ain't lookin' good.

If I can't get there, I'll have to find a weekend I can drive up to Lufkin and meet LT...and Flint.

You were certainly missed today, Skip. Hopefully, we'll see you at the next match.
And Longtooth is a great guy. Definitely head out to Lufkin to shoot w/ him if you get the chance.
