I have a sig P238 nitron and am in the market for a ankle holster. What is the best brand? Thoughts on ankle holster vs conventional inside waist band?

I sometimes carry a s&w 38 in a desantis ankle holster but that is just a backup. Its real easy to access while driving. I like to have my primary on my waist, closer to my hands. Id recommend a iwb holster.

1st thought is ankle carry is MUCH slower to deploy. I have one of the Remora ankle holster's for my BUG, which also can function as an IWB holster -- that being said, for your EDC holster, I'd highly recommend an IWB that is clipped to a quality gun belt. But the Remora is versatile, and certainly a valid consideration for your holster drawer. I haven't had the opportunity to actually go out and about with it strapped to my ankle though, but that will come later this fall/winter. I have used it tucked into my belt as a cross draw while driving. I position it about 11:00, angled so muzzle is pointing more towards my door than my leg. My primary is in IWB @ 4:00.

I'm coming a little late to the party but I've tried several, and this one has been the best for me:

I have used one on occasion (link and pic below) with a Sig P938 when I couldn't wear a cover garment and pocket carry was impractical or didn't give good enough concealment. The one in the pic is the only one I've tried that comfortably stays reasonably well in place.

Talon training group makes a wallet holster for p238 that might work for you too, great for back pocket carry, I use one every day for a Ruger LCP.

I realize this is an old post, but the Galco ankle holster should definitely be considered. While the leather version is not cheap, I have carried a Glock 26 in one regularly for years. Very well made and dependable holster. While I agree holster carry is not the optimal choice for speed, I ALWAYS have a gun. In the driving/seated position I would argue that it can be as fast as any other holster.
