If a stranger were to ask 'What's your religion?"

If a stranger approached you and asked "What's your religion?", would you take it to be a threat? I would consider it "condition red".

I see it as an irritant. And a sign to get as far from this individual as possible. Not due to feeling threatened but I just don't want to discuss religious issues with someone I don't know.

Yeah it seems a little creepy...granted I'm not "afraid of" LDS missionaries and Jehova's Witnesses that occasionally try to strike up a conversation, but it seems a little intrusive coming out of the blue. :nono:

Now if a guy pointing a rifle at me asks, I will say: "Let me get out my prayer book and show you....", then empty a mag into him.

"What an unusual way to begin a conversation! Why do you ask?"

I second this response, polite but to the point.

Depends on previous questions, location, random question out of the blue, etc.

:iagree: It depends on the totality of the circumstances.

I'd take it as a great opportunity to tell them about Christ. If they pulled a gun or other weapon, they'd get shot.

I actually considered that answer, and wasn't trying to avoid it, but my pastor taught a while back on a technique he has used to direct conversations toward Christ, and that is by asking questions instead of giving answers right off the bat. By directing the conversation with questions, you can gently lead the person to the conclusion that maybe they might want to give what you're going to say next a fair hearing.

"I am a devout follower of Jesus Christ and John Browning... Why do you ask?"

Been there and done it. In fact I am one who relishes the opportunity. It doesn't bother me at all to say I am a Christian. Was born again October 30, 1986 and I am not ashamed.

My religious beliefs are much like my CHL. People that need to know do, everyone else needs to stay in their lane.
