Really unbelievable. Sees the guy trying to climb out of his overturned vehicle, pulls his gun, pops a round into him dropping him back into the vehicle and re-holsters. No charges.
Dash cam footage from the November 25 incident shows the driver, 26-year-old Andrew Thomas, crashing his SUV. His wife was ejected from the window and died at the scene, reports CBSN’s Vladimir Duthiers.

Feaster walks towards the car and fires one shot, hitting Thomas in the neck as he attempted to get out through the window. Twenty-five seconds, later Feaster describes Thomas as being uncooperative.

“I’ve got an unresponsive female, I’ve got a male in the car refusing to get out,” Feaster could be heard saying in the dash-cam video.

How do you shoot someone who is unarmed and in need of assistance and then lie about it and still have a job, much less not having charges pending. Something about this stinks of coverup or covering ones own rear but either way if I lived in that community, I don't think I'd be letting it go so quietly.

Apparently they aren't happy... And apparently there supposedly no negligent shooting charges that can be filed in CA ?
"Without being able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there was a conscious, intentional, willful pulling of the trigger, there are no criminal charges that can be filed under California law for the negligent discharge of a weapon resulting in injury, no matter how horrible, as long as there is not a death,” Ramsey said.

Criminal or not, this gentleman does not need to be in law enforcement.

Looks like para-military tactics. Shooting at the "terrorist" as he got out of his vehicle... Oh wait...

Prosecutors called the shooting an accident, saying Feaster "did not intentionally fire his pistol" and that "he was in shock at the scene and not certain his weapon had actually discharged."
This explanation just underscores that he does not need to be in law enforcement.

I thought Manslaughter was for cases where intent was not there. If you run over someone without seeing them, you have no intent to murder them, but you still can be charged for the death. Same with this. He didn't kill him, but he inflicted serious injury. I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecutor could ramp up the charges since a gun was involved if he wanted to.

What about all that talk that we citizens are responsible for every bullet that leaves our guns. I'm confused. :headscratch

Mind Boggled... First, what clear threat did the shootee pose to the officer that would justify drawing his sidearm. I don't see where that should have occurred, and if the gun stayed in its holster I sincerely doubt that anyone would have been hurt by a projectile from its barrel. Second, I understand that triggers do not articulate themselves. Therefore, if the trigger was not unintentionally articulated during the presentation of the gun it was articulated via the officer's finger. An officer unconsciously or unintentionally firing a gun either needs to not carry a gun, undergo significantly more/better training, work on telling a better story, a sympathetic prosecutor, or some combination of these.

I have no words for this. I am a great supporter of our LEO's and usually wait to let all the evidence be sorted out. In this case I don't think I'd be jumping the gun by asking why no charges are going to be brought against this man. He keeps searching the ground with his flashlight for something. I'd can only assume it's the spent casing. He didn't even call for an ambulance for the injured female. Just unbelievable.

Unbelievable is just about the only label that fits this. I can't believe that any DA or Grand Jury could come to any conclusion other than murder, or (somehow) at least manslaughter.

Do we know what the particulars are previously?

I don't think our LEO's are what's painted here.

C'mon, there's more to this story, and one I'm sure exonerates this LEO.
