Check your new Instructor Certificate

Just got my new Instructor's Certificate in the mail. Yeahhhh! Well...., maybe not. While the envelope correctly was addressed to me at my address, the certificate inside had someone else's name (although the last name matched) and the wrong certificate number. I suggest that everyone check their certificate for errors.

Guess I will be calling TxDPS Monday morning. Rats!

That is terrible! I wonder how long it will take to get that corrected. Can't teach a class without the (correct) cert in hand.

Actually, that's not correct. The email I received from DPS/RSD says:
Our records indicate you have successfully completed the renewal process. Your new LTC Instructor Certificate which expires on December 31, 2017 is being mailed.

Updated training material including a revised course outline, student test and key, and a revised CHL-100 will be posted on our website prior to January 1, 2016. An email will be sent to Instructors advising when the revised materials are available on our website. A case sensitive password is located on the back of this certificate for access to the training material. Please note this email serves as confirmation that you may continue to instructor LTC handgun classes even if you have not received the new certificate.
If it works when I haven't yet received my certificate, it should work as well for someone who has yet to receive their certificate.

You may want to look up the other instructor on the CHL site and, if listed, contact him directly. If he has your certificate, it may be easier to just trade.

The CHL Site that comes up on my computer Doesnt list by alphabetical name or County for about 2 years

It used to be by county..

How in the world could any one look up an Instructor ??

Open the PDF file on the DPS site and search it using the viewer's search feature.

If you open the PDF file in Adobe Reader, press Ctrl-F to open the Find/Search box. If you use a different PDF viewer, it likely has a search function - Ctrl-F, or Edit->Find, or something similar.

Thanks for the search suggestion. I tried it, but the other instructor is not listed. It was a good idea.
