Just got stopped by a FW cop for speeding. I showed him my DL and CHL and he asked what kind of gun I carry? I told him and he says "I wish more people were like you" and asked me if I had heard about the Albertsons incident. We talked for a little while and he told me to slow it down and sent me on my way! I was doing 52 in a 35 and he could have written me up.

You were lucky. 17 over can be a major pain in the wallet.

You got very lucky. But, luck counts. Find out how much the fine would've been and go spend that money on ammo.

That might be a neat way to punish ourselves if we get a warning for a moving violation...
We can call it "CHL Court"...
I know...I'm stupid...

Make sure they know it's from a CHL that they didn't ticket. :)

I dont know if each city has their own fund, but Russ Martin (talk show host on 105.3) has the Fallen Police and Fire Foundation. I think the last I heard he was giving somewhere near $30,000 to the families of the Fallen. You can find out more info from his web site at
http://WWW.russmartin.com Even if you dont like his show, his Foundation is for a GREAT cause and good way to "pay the fine you didnt get".

Send it to the Russ Martin foundation. In fact, doing something like that when we get off would get rid of any hint of inpropriety(sp?) Just a suggestion...

The donation idea has a lot of merit. I like it. Make the donation and make sure that the donation is from (insert your name) on behalf of CHL holders in the State.
