February seems like an odd month, little early for it to bring in a large number of sales from Tax Returns... Then again I planned on getting a new gun in February, finances didn't allow for it, but soon.

If you have
your CHL (LTC) you wouldn't have been in the stats. I bought 3 myself in Feb w/o BG checks.

It's doing wonders for the stocks of s&w and ruger, I just wish I had bought ruger last fall when it was a good 20$ a share less.

My guess would be Justice Scalia passing has made some people think about the future a little more. Who knows what the future will hold if another liberal justice is appointed to the court.

That and HC traveling all over the country screaming about confiscating guns, Commifornia and other places trying to ban those "assault" rifles. They have been the best sales people.

That may not be the case entirely. Last time i was in a gun shop with a friend that was buying a pistol I asked about that. The clerk said even with a chl they will still run a background check.

I would change gun shops if that's their policy. It's not required. BTW I just remembered I bought 4 not 3, (sometimes I think it's a disease.)

About changing shops. I have bought two guns in the last two months at my local Academy with no additional BG checks. It saves time. The last one I bought, I was in and out, while a gentleman that was buying a gun was there before me and still there waiting after I left. It's one of the many reasons I got my CHL.

I bought a gun at the Burleson Academy in December and it took longer to walk to the cashier than do the paper work. I had to wait a few minutes for the manager to arrive. WalMart in Mansfield was even quicker as was a little pawnshop in Arlington last month
