I know that I can carry my weapon in my vehicle. My question is " can I carry my weapon in my holster inside the vehicle as long as I remove it before exiting?" I want to be totally legal before I officially get my CHL.
Yes. Concealed, obviously. But if you get pulled over for some reason and get asked by the LEO to step out of the car, I'm not sure of the implications there. Plus, every time you stop to get a drink, go to the restroom or etc., you will need to unholster the firearm and conceal it in your vehicle, which isn't the safest practice... manipulating you firearm constantly.

I had a long answer prepared, and then decided to leave it alone. Suffice to say that shouting "I HAVE A GUN!!!" is no way to go about it.

Yeah that does tend to make LEOs nervous. :smilelol5:

Must be concealed if you don't have your LTC. Obviously you have to be legal to have the gun first.

You can carry it on your person in the vehicle concealed. You can carry it to and from your home or property you are in control of. You can't legally carry it if, as pointed out, you stop for gas, drinks, food, etc.. Also if you are stopped by a LEO, and he asks you to exit your vehicle be sure to advise him (quietly) that you do have a gun.

Until your licence gets in, yes.

I would remove the holster with the gun still in it. Set the rig in a console.

:iagree:
That is what I have been doing either console or closed briefcase in the holster. Hopefully I will exit the waiting room soon.
