Take a look at cdnnsports dot com in Abilene. The have some pretty good deals on AR packages. I just bought a Ruger AR-556 package with scope, bipod, sling and carrying case for $699. Of course, you can't see it first unless you go to Abilene.

I have no connection with CDNN. Saw their info in a NRA email, and have ordered a couple of guns and some ammo from them. Satisfied with the price and quick delivery.

YMMV

Contact Justin at Texian Firearms in Houston. He can build you a custom rifle for a much better price than you think. Alternately, build your own. Its very simple, doesn't really take any special tools, and you can have a completed rifle in under an hour. This rifle kit:

Plus this stripped lower:

https://www.kygunco.com/Anderson-Mfg--A ... lack-76268

Equals a pretty dang nice AR for right at $500, including shipping and the FFL transfer of the stripped lower. Add a red dot, scope or iron sights and you are good to go.

If you change your mind about handling it first, let me know. I have an AR that I would let go for a steal, gotta pay for the can I have on the way.

Don't buy an AR15...

Build one!

Seriously though, building your first AR15 can be a very gratifying experience. You get to pick what goes into your rifle (instead of upgrading stuff later) and you get to know how it works on the inside. If you have doubts that you can build the whole rifle yourself, build the lower yourself and order a fully-assembled upper. The lower can be built with minimal tools. It's the upper that takes the specialized tools like a torque wrench and armorer's wrench.

I would consider selling the second one from the right (with or without red dot and riser) -- not sure what kind of price range your interested in staying at but if maybe interested let me know via pm

those are some nice looking rifle kits and down right impossible to beat prices especially with extended hand guards and all included -- if you have never put a lower together its pretty easy to do. several youtube videos with greats how too's or if not too far from me i would put it together for you

It can be a little tedious, but it's pretty easy. Here's how you do it: http://www.brownells.com/guntech/How-To ... Ascending)
