I would guess that by "I heard", he means media or social media which unless we are there or are informed by someone who is there, is pretty much how we all "hear" about things like this.

They could of reported that there were 13 gunman and that is what we would "hear". If you believe everything the media says, you'd believe it..

Checked and all my friends in Belgium are okay. They are near Brussels and many of them travel frequently.
