How many of these CL deals going south, have to happen before people realize, that if you have to go to another location, that you didn't choose, bad things are about to happen? :banghead: :banghead:

Glad he got out alive, too bad the University that collects his money, won't allow him to defend himself on campus. :nono:

The police department here in Plano has offered the use of their lobby as a safe place for conducting face to face trades.

There are hundreds of places that are safer, inside shopping malls, restaurants, etc.. If you are selling a cell phone, there is no need to meet at some out of the way location, then follow someone who "didn't bring the money?" to another location. I hope he is a first year student, I would hate to think he has a lot of money invested in education. :banghead:

I won't even look at CL any more. My experience has been that there are too many flakes.

I was supposed to go with a friend to a purchase a couple weeks ago.

I was happy when she ended up changing her mind. After talking with the woman on the phone she decided that the seller was weird.

Most first year students at Baylor aren't old enough to get an LTC.

I don't think they teach that stuff in college anyway.

I have to wonder if this student is really 'smart' enough to be attending college?

Lets see....TWO people show up at the park (you're outnumbered), they don't have the funds for the transaction (your first clue), they want you to go to a non-public location...unknown to you, you TAKE them in your vehicle (instead of staying put and having them return). Your weapon is in the trunk of your vehicle instead of on your person.

Hmmmmmm....what could possibly go wrong?

The answer...of course, is soon forthcoming.

The outcome: Even though the 'student' produced his own weapon (knowing both of the robbers were armed) he failed to use it. In fact, the robbers (after seeing his weapon) went ahead and grabbed the items anyway. To top things off...one of them fires a parting shot in the direction of the 'student', hitting his vehicle!

'Student' gets an 'A+' in terms of doing just about everything you could wrongly. Hope he is a fast learner.

Here's another story describing the student as a senior at Baylor. ;-)

Does this include private party gun sales?

I always struggle finding a good place for these types of transactions.

Yes sir. Our public relations officer was specifically asked about private party gun sales and he said that was allowed.

San Antonio PD has advertised their stations as places for CL transactions and such. Don't know about firearms sales, I would probably check with whoever is watching the lobby before pulling one out tho. :)

That kid needs to be careful. He used up pretty much all his luck in one go.
