CC question

I know that we should all carry our CC firearm in a manor that makes it unknown to others at all times. (No printing, clattering, ETC)
My question is this: by law is it still considered concealed if you can see the outline of it under a shirt? (Printing)
I always try to conceal as best as possible but sometimes it does print a littel. Am I still legal?

Use common sense. Is it obvious it is a gun? If so, you are in violation.
The law does not require that the actual gun be seen; it is a violation for you to intentionally fail to conceal the gun. The law also defines concealed as "a handgun, the presence of which is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person."

The unofficial concealed carry uniform
Crazy patterns on my shirt seem to break up the "printing" and make it a non-issue.

Keep in mind there are not alot of reasonable people left in the world these days.....
JK... with the proliferation of phones, PDA's, digital camera cases, and the like that people hang on their belt, most (read "reasonable") people are oblivious to a slight bulge under a t-shirt. I have been carrying a 1911 or a Sig in an IWB under a t-shirt for 10+ years and have never been openly "made". I'm sure that another gunny has probably taken note and assumed that I was carrying, but I have never been approached about it.
Look around....the world is full of "sheep". Just watch 'em for a while....most people go about their business without giving a second thought to what is going on around them.

TXI, what is the law again on accident flashing? IE, a strong wind comes and blow your tshirt up that shows your CCW.

you can't help the wind any more than you can help the jolly green giant coming over and shaking you upside down until all the change has fallen from your pockets. so long as you had the intent to conceal the weapon you're covered.
Now if you sweep your hands back to reveal your previously concealed weapon as a click cowboy intimidation factor you just changed your intent.
I've had issues with the wind before as well. I just keep my arm down when it's windy and there are no problems. Depends on how you carry.

HA!
JBird, I have several of those shirts. And yeah, the pattern is almost invisible for El Pistola.
So the new rule: Suspect anyone over 25 with a Hawaiian shirt to be a CHL ?

Thanks for the clearity on the law.
I always try to wear a button down shirt when I carry.
It is more of a Dickys' type shirt though. Usualy a dark color because I carry at night when I am out powerwashing in parking lots by myself.
I usually only button the top one or two buttons so that the shirt does not fly as much but the firearm can still be reached and quick.
Only been CC since may and still have a lot to learn.
Currently carying a Smith 910 chambered in 9mm but will be getting an XD soon as the smith is on loan.
Looking at the 40 cal in the service or tactical model. Thinking of getting the Tac and chopping the grip.
Thanks
