Options so far
1) Loctite blue
2) Teflon thread
3) Google fu prowess also suggested to use one of those

I have 1) and 2). I will try 2) first.

I noticed the same on my SP01 but I don't do anything about it. Regardles of how many rounds I fire, the thread protector loosens up by about 11/2 to 3/4 turns and stays there.

With mine I just tighten it by hand when the slide locks back.

Throw the protector away and put a supressor on it.

Don't shoot it without the suppressor mounted. Problem solved!
I only have a G17 and a G21 that I shoot suppressed, and I have regular versions of both, so I never use them without a suppressor.
A high temp Viton o ring might hold it still. Loctite will come loose at high temps.

The linked Viton o-rings are what I use. They stay in place and have not seen any issues with prolonged use or repeated heating/cooling from shooting. Strangely enough, the thread protector on the 13.5x1 LH threads on my 226 never has a problem coming loose. The same can't be said for the thread protector on the .578x28 threads on my 227, that thing will come loose if you look at it wrong.
I've got a bunch of these o-rings, Beiruty if you're shoot me your address in a PM I'll drop several in an envelope to you.
