Scary stuff,
Looks like it was well planned, with the exception of the employees being able to get to a safe room. Those check cashing places, are prime targets.
Hard to tell from the video, but it looks like 30.06/30.07 signs on the door over the reporter's shoulder. I guess bad guys can't read huh?
They said assault rifle, but the damage to the door was caused by a shotgun, the others just had pistols.

As they were coming in the front door you can see two with long guns and one with a pistol. If I had been inside, and they came in that fast with guns blazing, I'm not sure what I would have done. You never know how your gonna react until put in that situation.

Wow. Scary. These guys had no regard for the peoples safety.
And they say their is no need for "assault rifles." Would of been nice to see each of these guys get pumped with several 55 grainers.

Scary to see multiple bad guys with disguises and long guns. I also agree retailers and law enforcement gonna see these criminals again.

I believe you are correct there is either 30.06 or 30.07 sign. If I had to bet, I would say it was the open carry sign, as I believe it is "new." I looked on Google Maps at a street view of the store, and the sign was not there when Google drove by. I surmise that the sign went up when OC was in the news.
Looked to me like two long guns and one pistol when the three were running from the SUV the store. One was a pistol grip shotgun, but could not tell what the other one was. I believe it was also a pistol grip shotgun by the way he was carrying it, but very hard to tell.

Situations like this one is where I think open carrying regularly would be dangerous.

I'm sure they cased this store before making their move, they probably knew that, at least OC wasn't allowed and possibly CC as well. They shot in the air to get everybody down, and the only flaw in their logic was that the employees were able to lock themselves in the office, which they couldn't breach. They definitely weren't too concerned with whether or not they shot anybody, but they obviously knew when there would be the least amount of customers. they will more than likely strike again, and with a better plan, which may involve shooting people first to keep them under control.
I hope they can catch these thugs and put them away for awhile.

That certainly does look like a standard commercially available 06/07 sign on that door.
It is a real shame that those guys who were willing to commit a first degree felony (aggravated robbery) and even a capital felony (murder in the course of committing robbery) were also willing to walk past a sign that is a class c misdemeanor.
I mean, who could imagine that guys bent on committing felonies would not be deterred by the threat of some misdemeanor charges...?

The assaulters always have the element of surprise. Even someone with an AR at the low ready could be dropped by the initial breacher with any basic room clearing training. You can go take those classes without any background checks. I've taken several and that is on top of the training I received in the Army. If someone comes in, it is going to take a lot of luck and a decent amount of skill to overcome a fast assault.
The ONLY way you get an edge is if they are focused on folks in uniform or the employees and don't pay enough attention to you, giving you time to assess the situation and act accordingly. Sometimes that just means not acting at all, as harsh as that sounds. These places have insurance, and unless they start shooting people up, have to decide whether stopping a robbery is worth a hospital stay or getting dropped six feet under.
