A guy was booby trapping trail cams so they would blow when batteries were inserted. He also booby trapped a tree stand and possibly other places. At least one person had some fingers blown off.

They guy was arrested, but when the FBI had him out to pinpoint other booby traps, he tried to escape and they killed him.

Watch out for copy cats. If they do it in KY, it can be done other places. I have to wonder if he was some anti-hunting or anti-2A wacko.

I had an acquaintance to get a trail cams for his trail cams. I hear that it worked out because the offender ended up replacing all the trail cams lost over some time. (a half a dozen were bought) no charges filed.

If I understand this, he wasn't doing this to others' trail cams, but rather buying them and leaving them out for others to find.
