Dillon VS RCBS or other Powder Measure

I currently have a dillon 550b press. I use it to reload 45acp, .308win and 300 Ultramag. The powder measure seems to vary almost +- .5 grains at the 100 or so grains that go into the ultramag case. That is up to a grain in difference between rounds. Is the RCBS or any other brand powder measure any MOre accurate??? I hate to spend hundreds of dollars to find out. I am FYI using Spherical powders like Hodgons US869 and BLC-2, win231 for pistol etc. I hate to hand measure each charge.
Thanks for the info...

My RCBS is way more consistant than that.

I have several Dillon powder measurers and they are all very accurate with my pistol powders, mostly Power Pistol, W231, Titegroup, and 2400. I never have to adjust them once I get them set for a specific load.
My rifle and large pistol calibers are loaded on a single stage using a Redding BR measurer. The BR is the most accurate measurers that I have ever owned but I don't think it will do better than +/- 1/2 grain with a 100 gr throw. Are you considering this unacceptable?

LT - I was typing while you were posting. Much better than 1/2 gr with a 100 gr throw?? That's a very high level of accuracy.

The new Dillon Powder measure is kind of clunky. Here is an article about removing a piece. It makes things much smoother, and possibly more accurate. It does however remove a saftey aspect...

Hopefully no one will be upset if I link to Brian's site
I love this change.

I use a powder trickler on every rifle load.
On my pistol loads, I just use the powder drop.
Never went over 60gns on the RCBS powder drop, but it was within +-.2gns.
I've heard that different powder throws work better than others with different types of powder, but all I have is an RCBS.
