I know ammo prices are still rising based on the internet prices. FYI...I bought Blazer Brass 40 cal last night at Wal-Mart for less than $8 per box.

A word of caution about Blazer Brass 40 cal. Blazer Brass ammo is generally "OK" ammo. But, the 40 S&W has an issue if you're shooting it in a Glock with a stock barrel. I am not saying there is a "known issue", I am saying that I had an issue with it that prevents me from ever buying it again for use in a Glock.

The issue was/is, Bullet Setback. The crimp on the bullet is so weak that it's possible or even probable that the bullet will get pushed back a bit into the case when the round is chambered. This can cause a serious pressure increase on an already high pressure cartridge.
I discovered this while firing various ammo to check for accuracy in a Glock 22. The Blazer Brass would throw the first shot high every single time but no other ammo did this. Finally I chambered and then ejected the first round to look at it and the bullet was setback about 1/8" into the case.
I then put a new round in the chamber by hand and THEN inserted a magazine. The first shot went where it was supposed to.
Then I started over and chambered a round from the mag, then ejected it and it was setback. Problem with the gun you say? It did the same thing on a Glock 27 and a 35.

Take what I've said with a grain of salt as it was over 2 years ago and maybe they've changed that ammo by now but I won't be buying any to find out.

I had a few extra bucks available, so I bought out two Walmarts and got 35 boxes total.

I will often shoot the Blazer Brass at the range if money is tight ($7.57 for 50). That is of course assuming I can actually FIND a Walmart employee in the sporting goods department. But that is only the beginning of my quest. True success involves that magical conjunction of the planets to ensure that the employee in sporting goods is actually the one with the key to the ammo case, and that "Lenny" didn't take the key home when he went to lunch. I've had to adopt the strategy of buying a box anytime I actually see someone at the counter just in case.

Seriously, the only problem I've noticed with the ammo is it is a bit dirtier than, say the Winchester FMJ, and it leaves somewhat of a yellow residue on the part of the slide that actually contacts the round. It shoots fine, though, in my Taurus Millenium Pro.

I know what you mean. We must shop at the same Walmart. I've bugged the lady in the auto department a lot to get her to page someone to open the ammo cabinet.
