This article says that there are 8 injured, and that one suspect was shot and killed. The initial report was that he was shot by a concealed carry holder, but later it was relayed that the supect was shot by an off-duty police officer.

His motivation is still a mystery according the St. Cloud police chief.
"...the suspect — who was
dressed in a private security uniform — reportedly asked at least one victim whether they were Muslim before assaulting them, and referred to Allah during the attacks."

If they don't want to say Terrorism, they could just say its another case of a Muslim killing Christians.
Apparently it is so bad in the UK that the police won't release any of this information for fear of telling the truth.

Per this blog the mall is a gun and weapon free zone. The off duty police officer from another district may have violated their rules.

Yes but in Minnesota, this does not necessarily rise to a criminal offense for a licensee.
For an off duty cop in Texas they would have been exempt from the rules. This, of course, because of Texas' century long tradition of unabridged respect for private property owners/managers... /sarc

Falconer is the president and owner of Tactical Advantage LLC, a shooting range and tactical training facility with a strong focus on arming concealed carriers.
