Civil Rights Division, DOJ

Now that we have a 2nd Amendment friendly administration (arguably for the first time since 1988), I would like to throw out this proposal.
The Civil rights division of the Department of Justice has this to say about themselves:
The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, created in 1957 by the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1957, works to uphold the civil and constitutional rights of all Americans, particularly some of the most vulnerable members of our society. The Division enforces federal statutes prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, disability, religion, familial status and national origin.
States like New Jersey, New York and California clearly violate our constitutional rights. If I choose to enter New Jersey, for example, I have to leave behind my 2nd Amendment rights.
What do you think about petitioning the Civil Rights Division of a Trump administration to chalenge states that violate our rights?
