Spanish LTC Class

I've been doing Spanish License to Carry classes in the Odessa/Midland area, but lately have been having second thoughts. I've been doing LTC/CHL for 4 years now and have avoided charging prior to class. Lately, on my Spanish classes, I'll have several sign up and come class day, I'll have over half of those not show and not even a cancellation noticed. Really bummed..

Not sure what classes in Spanish and paying have to do with each other. These are total strangers, so why would you trust them to pay, or show up? No pay, no certificate which translates into no LTC. Try it the other way and see what happens. Do you have to be a US citizen to get a LTC? You would have to give them money back if they don't make the class anyway. Unless you have "No Refund" unless you cancel within 48 hours of class on a signed contract.

If you require (at least) a non-refundable deposit, you'll find your no-shows diminish. Allow (if you wish) a reschedule if something comes up.

Just wondering how are you handling the test in these classes?

I am trying to get my website configured to allow prepayment online. At least for maybe a $20 non-refundable deposit, stated clearly upfront. No shows suck. Occasionally it can't be helped, but it still sucks.

I did not know DPS approved a Spanish class and test. Can someone elaborate on this?

I think the official test is only in English but some instructors do teach classes in Spanish.
I read well enough that I could probably pass the test in Spanish but I'm not fluent enough to understand a class taught in Spanish at normal coversational speeds. There are probably immigrants who are in a similar boat.

Anybody have a referral for somebody in Houston teaching a Spanish language LTC course?
The very first google result is this thread.

I get it.
