...Vaca told Eyewitness News that he had no intention of shooting the officers. He also dismissed the notion that he wanted them to shoot him as a form of suicide. So, why would he intentionally carry the .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle out of his car and approach police?

The reason, he claimed, had to do with his “theory” about police.

There is a time and a place to test a theory. He's lucky his test didn't cost him his life.

So, his theory was that if the officers asked him to put the gun down and that he complied that he would be arrested without being shot?

He carried a gun during a traffic stop because he wanted to prove his belief that all police officers are good?

I assume that the police ran his license plates and knew that he was a felon and known to have associated with a criminal street gang.

His story has more holes in it than he had after his traffic stop.

Darwin had a theory too, and this guy almost illustrated it. :headscratch

"Stupid is supposed to hurt." I guess it did. He is fortunate to be alive as many times as he was shot. I like the part where he said, "I played dead." I am sure he did.

I hope this guy doesn't have any more "theories" he wants to test. He really needs to do more research before he comes up with a hypothesis. :banghead:

I've got to question the type of ammo the police are using in Bakersfield. That many rounds and the perp lived to tell about it.

It's California. The projectiles are cast from dehydrated unicorn tears and fueled with compressed rainbow gas.

Yep, sounds like he right up there with the great theorists of all time, Einstein, Tesla, Darwin etc.. But I doubt many of his will make it into science text books and journals. :biggrinjester:

I uh,........uh...ummm. He did what????

I agree his story doesnt pass the smell test. Sumpin aint right. I just hope the cops dont stress out over it too much, they did what they had to do. That kind of incident can be long lasting for the good guys and some have a hard time getting past it. This knucklehead gave them no choice.
