Well I have joined the ranks. This is my first 1911 purchase. I can already tell there will be more to follow.

Edited to add: as soon as I figure out why I can not get the picture to work I will add it.

Let's try this

Welcome to the 1911 crowd. Great long enduring design by John Moses Browning!

What brand is your 1911?

Congratulations!

They do seem to multiply. I have 5 right now. I've sold a couple.

Boy, that's the truth!! In fact, unlike most things in this world- 1911's don't require a pair, to multiply! "rlol"

Enjoy it and shoot the heck out of it!!

Ok, so I'm having a feed issue. The first and sometimes second round in the magazine will hit the feed ramp and stop. Hitting hard enough to set the bullets back in the casings. Any ideas?

What type of ammo? Some require a 200 round break. They can be a little finicky on ammo type sometimes.

Make sure you set your magazine springs. You have to leave your magazines fully loaded for a few days to ensure reliability. I do it twice with every new magazine and it seems to help. Did you clean your gun and lube it afterwards?

I cleaned and lubed before shooting. It looks like the rounds are tilted down a bit when the mags are fully loaded.

The best 1911 magazines are Tripp Research Cobra mags.

The part number you want is 8R-45-RG.

I've only heard great things about Tripp mags but haven't used them... Other than factory mags (which I immediately change to Wilson spring & followers) I have only bought Wilson 47D for full size and 47OX for officer sized mags and have never had an issue in any 1911 I've owned.

I don't have a 1911 but with your magazine problem I would ask did you clean the mags?

I know some single stacks the spring has to go in a certain orientation or they don't work 100%. Some else maybe able to say if that is possibility with 1911 mags.

Tripp Research, Wilson Combat, or Chip Mcormick for magazines. I'd try one magazine from the list above, and if that doesn't solve your problem, break in your gun for a few hundred rounds before making your next move. Unless you already have shot that many?
