I need to be stopped........

I just pulled the trigger on a brand new Springfield loaded 1911 with night sights. The online price, coupled with the Springfield magazine madness promotion was just too good to pass up. Once this piece is tested and evaluated I'll work it into my carry rotation. And.....as soon as I figure out how 5th post pix from my phone I'll do that as well. (Any help would be appreciated).
Does anyone here own/carry this particular springer? Thoughts, comments, buyer's remorse? I don't think.ill have any problems with it, and just wanted some real opinions from owners. My first 1911 was a Springfield G.I. purchase used from a San Diego pawn shop for $350.........still kicking myself for getting rid of it.

I bought the XDS in December 2015 and got in on the promotion available at that time. The promotion included two extra magazines, a double magazine holder and a range bag. It took about 2 1/2 months to receive the gear. It was well worth the wait and I'm extremely satisfied with the performance of the gun.

Those are nice pistols. No need to stop.
Your phone pix can't be uploaded to the forum because they are too big. Instead, upload them to a hosting service, and then link them here like this:
Code: Select all

That will embed the image in your post, so it will look something like this.....

Cool! I hit the deal in 2015 with my m1a and got 4mags. It was almost worth paying for that rifle........almost.
That's a really nice pistol. What grips are on her? And I'll try the photobucket route, I suppose.

You're close.... Just used the wrong link...
You need to copy the "Direct" link from photobucket and post it between the "img" tags...

That will give you:
The grips on my 1911 above are Ma-Grips. They extend a little below the grip frame, and form a magazine guide. They are aluminum.

....a 1911 in .45acp will adequately stop you.

I bought a Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 back in 2009 (full-size lightweight bi-tone with night sights). At the time, I was wanting a Kimber CDP but couldn't find one, and the wait time was around six months. I really like my Springfield but don't carry it because of the 7-round capacity magazine. My Springfield 1911 fits my grip more comfortably that any of my other handguns, with the possible exception of my SIG Sauer P229.

But (if it makes a difference to you), your Springfield can also take any 8 round mag too. I highly recommend Cobra mags.

Im covered on mags, I think. I already carry a commander so, I've got mags. The chip McCormick shooting stars are by far the best deal I've found. Never had a problem with one. I picked up some cheap ones awhile ago (not sure which brand, they had a strange floor plate and plastic followers) which will only load with 7rnds but, hold 8. I'll look at some cobras though.

I'll work with it when I can get home today. And im still waiting for the pistol to ship so, it'll be a couple days before I can get some rounds downrange. I'll use the time to load up some .45

Buy 8 rd. mags from Wilson, Tripp Research, or Chip McCormick. Wilson also makes a 10rd mag.

I definitely do not "need" another 1911, but having served in the Artillery, I always wanted a Springfield with the crossed cannon grips. This mag promotion was getting dangerously close to making me pull the trigger on another gun. But if the extra mags are all 7 rounders, then I will be able to resist the temptation.
