A person has been stabbed to death, and four more injured, in a knife attack at a German supermarket.

1 dead, 4 injured. The attacker was subdued by members of the public... How much do you want to bet that a few of the injured were part of the effort to subdue the bad guy? Any hand to hand combat instructor will tell you that if you get into knife fight, expect to get cut.

On CNN story no mention of the man saying anything.

Of course not!! That might give away the fact that it is terrorism, and not give them a chance to put it down as common, everyday, grocery store work place, accidental knife slippage. Or even bury it further so, they can move on to that ever more important Russian Collusion marathon. Nothing to see here folks, Germany has no problems because of open borders, disarming the public, or anything else.

In the German video the interviewee says "Allahu Akbar" as he describes and gesticulates about the attack. I'd say that's compelling evidence of the motive!

According to a report on Spiegel.de there is no evidence for a terror act.
The suspect is a migrant from the U.A.E., lives in an asylum home, has a record of psychological problems and a history of drug consumption on a regular base. The victims were bystanders and did not try to stop him. He was subdued by a group of people at a different location. He was a moslemic church member but there is no proof for a terror motive at this point.

Another source (in German) states it was a kitchen knife, unconfirmed witness statements are unconfirmed about the suspect shouting "Allahu Akbar."
German officials confirmed the suspect was an active member of an Islamic group.
I guess they'll come out with dertails by tomorrow.

The headlines state machete, in the article they state a large kitchen knife.

I would not assume an article is more accurate just because it is in the English language.

Germany and the rest of Europe really need a SA and CHL.

Update: The suspect was on a deportation list. Authorities stated the deportation was delayed because the suspect did not have any paperwork at all to proof his identity. He was known to authorites for his radical views.
It seems like bureaucracy is to blame.

Yikes... Ya gotta love journalism nowadays. It's really not about facts anymore, but just who gets to publish the headline first. I can see how politicians are totally taking advantage of that.

Anyhow, what we know for sure is that if Germany instituted mandatory background checks and a 15 day waiting period on anyone who produces, purchases, sells, trades, imports, sharpens, or juggles any blade greater than 10mm, this tragedy would not have happened....

I grew up over there and know about their buearocracy. It takes a permit to get a permit to ask for a training class to apply for a fishing license!

Update: they just stated the subject is from Palestine and not UAE.
