If I were to become a Texas Resident in the near future, would I be able to continue to carry on my Arizona Non-Resident permit until I'm able to get a Texas license?

In Texas you can carry on with your AZ permit. Just note the school zone wrinkle, FGFSZ is muddy with a out of State CHL / LTC.

Also... There is occasionally some confusion about an old requirement for 6-month waiting period once you arrive here. That requirement is long gone. You can apply for TX Resident LTC the same day you get your TX Drivers License, or you can apply today as a non-resident, take the class and get your license, then swap to resident ($25 fee, I think), once you get your TX DL.

Also... as of 1-Sept the application fee drops from $140 to $40. Worth waiting the extra few days to save $100.

Small matter of your address. You'd have to change your AZ non resident permit to reflect your Texas address, but as long as you take care of it right away, you shouldn't have any problems.

Arizona makes that easy. An e-mail to AZ DPS has always done the trick.
