Booze, guns, and arguing with a female... an extremely bad combination.

Never drink on an empty head.
Never hang out with people who do.

Yikes... This is one of the reasons why I no longer drink. Most people turn stupid when they drink (as do I). I also have a policy where you must hand over your sidearm before you drink on my property. I don't take gun safety lightly when mixed with alcohol. Hopefully lessons can be learned from this unfortunate incident.
Condolences to the family and friends of those involved.

I don't know if drinking was the issue, in this case. From reports I have read, It started as an argument between, ex-husband and ex-wife. The ex-husband was upset with his ex-wife having a game watching party. They argued outside, and she went back inside, he followed and began shooting. She was one of the victims. I'm not saying that alcohol wasn't involved, but from what I have read, the shooter, had just arrived on the scene, a few minutes before.

Source of the psychotic ex story was victim's mother. Looks like the others were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Terrible. Hope the perp burns in the afterlife.

More people killed by 'automatic weapons' we all carry in Texas.

A report from Fox 4 News says the shooter went to hr house and walked in with a rifle and begin shooting.
The Officer who did not wait for back up and went inside to confront the shooter is a very brave hero in my book.

The victims have been identified. Evidently the shooter was mad at his ex wife.

Just another reason to always carry, always. If one of these victims had been carrying, they could have probably saved several lives.

Prior to the shooting the BG had been drinking at a bar, was talking crazy talk,
and put a handgun and a big knife on the bar.
Everyone at the bar was freaked out, but no one dropped a dime on him to Plano PD
to have him checked out.
The shooter appeared to have been an alcoholic, who was also on pain meds. Not a good combo.
Upon arriving at the scene, the initial (lone) Plano LEO saw 2 dead bodies in the backyard, more
bodies in the house, and firing from inside the house continuing. Without regard for his personal
safety, or knowing how many shooters were in the house, he entered and shot the BG dead.
One of the news stories mentioned that this officer may be nominated for some high medal for his
courageous confrontation with pure evil.

He deserves any award that can be given to him. How many more potential victims were inside the house when the BG was taken out?
