Sounds like the type of doctor I would want, a drug addicted, nut job with sharp objects. But with the UK health care system, i don't know that she will be any worse than what is already in place.

You can't make this stuff up.

Probably want her to finish so that she's certified and can patch people up in prison. Skilled help, and they don't have to pay her a salary.

She got 10 months in jail, but delayed until she finished Med School, in about a year and a half. Not being familiar with the facts (and apparently some extenuating circumstances) of the case other than what was in that article, it doesn't seem unreasonable for the judge to do this. She'll still serve the time she was given but avoid having her career destroyed in the process. The university still has the right/opportunity to kick her out, so, she's not out of the woods there..

What the world needs, a junky murderous physician. The only positive is that she appears to be prettier than most Brits (no insult intended to any local Brits).

Based on the information presented, I think that the judge made a good ruling.
I wouldn't be surprised if he suspends the jail term if she doesn't get into any more trouble before she graduates.
